All right, all right…if we’re going to have any kind of reasonable dialog, there must be some distinction between what we might call “garden variety free enterprise” and “corporate (or vulture) capitalism.” The former arguably has some value, particularly with appropriate regulation (like Glass-Steagall). The latter has no value whatever, except for private interests, and comprises a very real evil today.
I believe capitalism in itself, whether it be what you refer to as “garden variety free enterprise” or “vulture capitalism”, is inherently flawed on a socio-economic level – especially on an economic level. The notion of capitalism attaining any workable model is to disregard the inherent crisis of capital in which capitalism breeds within itself, regardless of what means it adheres to.

read Khrushchev’s memoirs by Strobe Talbott. It was worse than the speech revealed as Khrushchev’s conscience was bothering him in his last years.
