Greenpeace reveals shocking images of nuclear waste transport

November 6, 2010

The international environmental organization, Greenpeace, has published today a revealing picture of the transportation of nuclear waste from Germany, who are taken in convoy on rails as it passes through France.

The train loaded with 154 tons of nuclear waste, whose stay in Caen (northwestern France) antinuclear activists delayed for more than three hours, he changed his schedule for Friday night and arrive in Germany at noon, said the NGOs’ Sortir du Nucleaire ‘.

The train passed through the town of Reims in the north, and Metz (northeast) first thing in the morning, the NGO added. The convoy, still according to activists, will not pass through the towns of Arras, Valenciennes, Fourmies, Hirson and Charleville, but will follow a route through a line further south.

“In the face of the massive mobilization of partnerships and initiatives that have sprung up two days ago to inform the public, the ‘lobby’ nuclear has decided to change the route of the train at the last moment,” said Laura Hameaux spokesman the NGO, who criticized the convoy traveling in secret.

  1. And so it goes, over and over again. The huggers don’t want coal used to produce electric power. Don’t want nuclear. The windmills kill the birds.

Yet they continue to use electrical appliances like a…computer.

However, a day of reckoning is coming for these people and there will no place to run and hide when their time comes.
